The Boss in [Saints Row IV](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fACvVM_JNs) — not only does he battle aliens in a virtual reality with superpowers, he also signed a bill to “Fuck Cancer”.

MadTV did a great bit where a blackout drinker wakes up with a massive hangover and the Secret Service quickly brings President Herman up to speed on everything he’s been up to since his girlfriend dumped him at that bar.

“I failed high school twice! I butter bagels for a living! How in the hell would anyone elect me President?”
“Well, I think people found you kind of refreshing, sir. I mean, you are pretty upfront with your views.”
_“I don’t have any views!”_
“Maybe not now, sir. But when you get in front of a TV camera with a bottle of Jack Daniels, you can be extremely opinionated.”

“You won the war against drugs with your brilliant Give Us Your Drugs Or We’ll Blow Your Freakin’ Heads Off campaign.”
“I actually said ‘freakin’?”
“No, sir, but I’m a Mormon.”

“And how, exactly, does one go about acquiring three new states?”
"Well, with Cuba … I’m quoting, here: _Cuba’s now part of the United States; anybody got a problem with that?"_

“But, uh, perhaps your greatest achievement, sir, was your cure for cancer.”
“How’d I cure cancer?”
“Well, you took nine of the heads of the world’s largest corporations and gave them all cancer. Within seven months we had four different cures.”

While I loved the movie, “Dave” was pretty darn implausible. No one could hide a President incapacitated by a stroke and replaced by a look-a-like. Too many people would know about it and would leak it to the media. Yes, I know Mrs. Wilson hid Woodrow Wilson’s stroke from the public but that was 100 years ago and things and media scrutiny is much heavier now.

Well he obviously got the job after building experience after being for a spell the Secretary of State under President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. Or it that “Sekritary of State”?

To be fair, he’s a Princeton grad, Rhodes scholar, and multi-term senator when he ran. Certainly a much better candidate than Reagan.

Reagan had been governor of California for two terms, not exactly a political naif.

And before that he was a prominent Union president. It’s not like Reagan showed up out of nowhere.

My vote: President Skroob from _Spaceballs_. Who would vote for a guy that funny-looking?

A teenage rock star becomes POTUS in [_Wild in the Streets_](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_In_The_Streets) (1968). He then has everyone over 30 sent to concentration camps for LSD therapy.

**If you leave out comedies, though** , wherein it’s acceptable for the President to be a joke, and just go with Presidents who are seriously but ill cast, who would it be? I mean, you totally believe Morgan Freeman in “Deep Impact,” and Michael Douglas seems plausible enough in “The American President.” Who’s the opposite of that?

There was a string of rather bizarre presidents and VPs who moved up in the Dirk Pitt series. About as convincing as the main characters.

This is pretty much the whole point of **House Of Cards** , right? President Walker gets elected thanks to the Washington power broker he promised would be Secretary of State, and then decides, _nah, screw that guy._ And cue Kevin Spacey scheming as if (a) he’s still in **Superman Returns** , and (b) someone just kicked Lex Luthor in the crotch.

Funny, but before I even opened the thread I decided on Wayne Palmer. A former president’s black-sheep brother with no previous apparent political aspirations is suddenly the president himself with little to no explanation? Gets my vote.
