**metal mouse** , the cycle count position in our department isn’t physically taxing and in a climate controlled environment without any really heavy lifting. While being on your feet is a thing, most guys his age can handle it if they are decent shape. Even most production positions at our facility are seated and in the same building. Our employee age tends to skew towards over 40. 😛 I got a lot of stuff knocked out today and should get even more done tomorrow, given that I won’t be pestered by as many people. 😛 Tonight, it’s just chilling in the studio. ---

Worked, came home. Had to nap after walking Gordie, the heat set off the asthma. They took away the last recycling cart. I left three boxes on the cutting board this morning, with a Post-It note that said ‘Happy Anniversary’ and a heart on it. (_snerk_ It’s always better when you have a heart on.) One box contained a silver cat-shaped ring, one contained fake diamond studs with silver ears and whiskers, and the third box had dangly earrings shaped like cats, reaching up to play with a fake diamond up by the hook. I sent my morning text when I got to the office. I was in Seattle today, and I went to Trader Joe’s to lunch. I couldn’t decide between the colourful flowers or the dozen roses, so I got both. They only had two different anniversary cards, so I got a Thank You card instead. Inside it said ‘THANKS!’ When I got back to the office I traced a picture of Eeyore in the card, and wrote ‘for marrying me’ under the ‘THANKS!’ I signed it ‘Love, John (your husband)’. Mrs. L.A. seemed touched. 🙂 ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out and clear (The moon shines bright deep in the heart of Jawja!) with a predicted high of 95 and N.O.S. for the day. The big plan of the day is to go do some mowage over to the church house. My team’s up for this round. After that, who knows. Maybe some quality cee-mint pond time. Up at last! I slept in but since I went to bed lots later than usual, I don’t think it counts. Daughter posted in FB that they’re on the way. It’s theoretically less than 9 hours from Gatlinburg to here, so that’s how much time I have to get my chores done. 😃 I’ll make a grocery run, then come home and do some cleaning. Sounds like a fun day, huh? Lately, I’ve been watching movies that the whole world has seen but I never did. First was _Cat on a Hot Tin Roof_. Last night was _Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?_ Just a coincidence that Liz Taylor was in both. Not sure what’ll be next. I also watched a documentary about industrial musicals, made by the head writer from Letterman’s show. I think it was called _Bathtubs over Broadway_ - really fascinating - give it a watch! Netflix. And that concludes the movie review portion of the post. Happy Firday!!! ---

An elderly eccentric leaves his entire estate to the Russian government. The most notable property and the one most interesting to the comrades is the baseball team – the Chicago White Sox. The energetic Russians try to understand baseball, leading to new wins for the cellar team, perhaps under the influence of a profit-sharing scheme. Then there is Bukharov, thwarted in his attempts to hoist the ““homer and sickle”” over the ball park land to distribute copies of the Daily Workers. When the Russian managers import a team from Cuba, a U.N. crisis ensues when the whole team immediately asks for asylum. One cas see where you would think “Reds” but that wasn’t what the author had in mind. ---

I went over to the church house to accomplish duties and mowage. Duties were completed but no mowage. Gas is a requirement for mowers and both gas cans were gone. :dubious: Oh well, I showed up so I count that as doin’ my mowage duty. ---

Back from grocery run. I think I got everything, altho it took 3 stops to find a decent hunk of beef for the pot roast. The dishwasher is washing and I’ve boiled some eggs to be deviled. Gotta make some tea - the inlaws like iced tea. And I need to dig out the coffee maker and filters. And clean - so much to clean… They should be here before 3 according to Daughter and GPS. \*\*Flyboy \*\*- that cracked me up!!! 😃 😃 😃 😃 ---

Happy Firday! Is cloudy and muggy outside, supposed to up to a very humid 88 degrees today. Spent three hours at the dog park this am. I got a shower from Buttercup, a labordoodle who jumped up on the table, got a big drink from her cup, and then dripped water all over me. My son’s BIG ASS 15 page paper is due today. When I went to bed last night he had 7 pages done. When I got up this morning he had 7 and a half pages done. He is going to be very busy today. ---

I almost had an incident, this morning. I let the dogs out, as usual, to do their morning pottying routine. It was dark, and around 4:30am. I keep weird hours. So, I hadn’t heard anything out of them for quite awhile, and I went to check on them/let them back inside. I opened the door, and there they were, sitting on the steps. There was Shayna, Poe, and Beanz. There was also another face. It was BigAss Raccoon. They were all just sitting on the steps, looking up at me. I have no idea when the dogs decided that they liked BA Raccoon. I had no idea BA Raccoon liked the dogs! BA Raccoon always came up to us, and took cookies/snacks that we offered it. That was two years ago, though. Jeez. Anyway, I slammed the door shut, leaving everyone out on the steps. If BA Raccoon would have gotten inside, there would have been a bloodbath, because I’ve got several cats that live inside, and I’m almost sure that one of them, if not more, would have tried to start some shit with BA Raccoon. Then, the bloodbath would have ensued. When I opened the door, again, BA Raccoon was gone, the dogs came back inside, and all is well. Ok. No. All is NOT well. Our refrigerator decided to go tits up yesterday. Of course, this happens when we have absolutely NO money to work with (This is because my husband, an OTR truck driver, hasn’t been getting many miles. What pay he has been getting, has gone for bills, my insulin, some food, and stuff like that, that can’t be let go). So, I took what money I could gather up, and bought a stupid mini-fridge. Dear Og, it’s tiny, and I’m going to lose a LOT of damned produce, and a little meat. Ugh. Always something. That’s ok, though. That’s just how life goes, sometimes. I figure that we’ll be able to get a new fridge in a month, or so. For now, we’ll survive, no matter how much it sucks. ---

\*\*Nona \*\*- that does suck! Even when you’re not strapped financially, losing a fridge is not good. When ours died, we loaded as much stuff as we could into coolers, then bought a fridge mainly because it was available immediately. I do rather like it, altho it’s a bit smaller than our last one. \*\*FCD \*\*hates it because the freezer is a drawer at the bottom and it’s hard on his back to get ice… OK, eggs are deviled, floors are vacuumed, dishes are clean, a pitcher of tea is brewed, the pot roast is simmering, veggies to be added gradually. Plus I cleaned the cat box and moved much of my knitting stuff to the bedroom so there would be sitting space. Now I’m going to toss all the completed knitting into the washer for a rinse cycle. We’re going to my mom’s on Sunday and I’ll deliver it all to her. Whew! And I haven’t had lunch yet… ---

**FCM** , you wear me out just reading your stuff… **Nona** , I have a mini-fridge not doing anything right now, I’d give it to you if you were within reach of N. Ali-bama. And great story about BA Raccoon and the dogs. **flyboy** , I’d probably have the same experience. Last time I was in church was when my niece/nephews were participating in the children’s Xmas program (they’re in their 20’s now). **Sari** , some people do better under pressure. My term papers always got typed up the night before they were due. And I got A’s and B’s on a consistent basis. Hope Sah-son has the same luck. Stayed in bed until after 8am (not tellin’ how long after 8) and soccer is this afternoon and Saturday. Trying to get some other folks in gear to move some mini-goals, but somebody has to take charge besides me, I will help but I don’t want to organize… All y’all take care.
