# Who did the voice over for TV Guide in the 70's???

Back in the 1970’s TV Guide had commercials with an [“odd repetitious tone”](http://www.tvparty.com/70com.html) that I remember well. But it’s the voice over I’m wondering about. My brother thinks it was [Dan Rowan](http://www.nndb.com/people/531/000060351/), I’m not so sure.

Anyone have a clue?

Wasn’t it Gary Owens, the announcer on Laugh-In?

I don’t think so. Listen to the ad on TVPARTY. It doesn’t sound like him. But it doesn’t sound like Dan Rowen either (not to me, anyway).
