My wife **katrina** and I had just spent the week with her family in Virginia. We flew back on the 31st, getting into Seattle around 8pm. What with a crummy airline, jet lag, and her starting to get a cold, we hit the pillows by 10:30 with no regrets. ---

Ah, how we change with the years… Back in the day, the neighbors would be lucky if our New Years party ended by **February**. This year, what with the baby not sleeping very well & hubby getting sick, we were asleep by **8:30**! Woke up at midnight to the sound of a fucking PARADE going up & down our street, complete with whistles & sirens. I only wish I had planned ahead, so when the baby woke up at 5:00 am, I could have driven up & down my street honking my horn and blowing an air horn, to celebrate the New Year. What a hangover-enhancer that would have been! ---

I went to bed at 12:55 but I couldn’t get to sleep because of all the neighbors who lacked the patience to wait 5 more minutes to set off their firecrackers. I didn’t get much sleep. ---

Made it to midnight. Didn’t care. I believe I was sitting on the SDMB at the time. Looked down at the computer clock. It said “12:08.” Well, Happy New Year. ---

I just get this creepy vibe whenever I see the two of them together. But, she told us NYE that she’s pregnant, so I can deduce that they still love each other enough to do it from time to time.
