# Who do I contact to change my screen name?

I had planned to change my name some time ago but that fell to the wayside when TubaDiva passed away. Then life happened. Then COVID happened. Somewhere in there the Dope migrated to Discourse and I waited for everything to settle down, Now I’m ready to try again but I can’t figure out how it’s done.

Start by sending me an email at [EngineerCompGeek@gmail.com](mailto:EngineerCompGeek@gmail.com). For security reasons, make sure that the email comes from the address on your SDMB account.

Once we have verified that we have email contact with each other (in case something happens and you lose access to the SDMB) then we can proceed with the change.

Make sure you specify EXACTLY what you want your new name to be, because I am literally going to copy and paste it. Note that Discourse does not allow spaces and allows few non-alphanumeric characters.
