Sheez, guys, this is like Larry Craig in the girl’s shower: Just how hard can it possibly be? I don’t mean to complain or anything, but… I WANT MY SEARCH FEATURE! GOOGLE SEARCH IF NOTHING ELSE! I’m goin’ Rainman over herrrre. “Definitely can’t search nope definitely can’t search yeah Vern can’t search through the 293,231 posts…” And some rotisserie chicken wings with lots of garlic, and a lemonade. Real lemons, with pulp, and Splenda/sugar mix. ---

Just click on ‘Advanced Search’, that works fine. ---

Right click on Search and open it in a new window. There are always workarounds, you just need to use some imagination. ---

It would be helpful, though, if they’d allow for narrowing the time period down a bit. When they first set up those date ranges, the board was less than two years old, so “A year ago and older” was less than a year’s worth of threads. Now it’s over eight years of threads. I know nothing about vBulletin, but I bet they’ve got something better than that as an option. They might even have some ‘between date X and date Y’ option. ---

I’ve found that when the search doesn’t work, trying it again in a few minutes yields results. So, if at first you don’t succeed … ---

Well clearly I’m deficient because I cannot figure out how to PM anyone here. I can’t access anyone’s profile (which I’m guessing is where the PM function now is?) and I’m still a paid member (as far as I can tell and of course there’s no way to re-up in case I’m not). So um how do I PM? ::bangs head against laptop and knows she’s a moron for not figuring this out:: ---
