ok…the “Most Despised/Loved Cartoon Character” thread got me thinking about this. Especially after the mention of the loathesome Angelica Pickles. I’m sure we all know someone who has a disturbing resemblance to a 'toon. For example: My soon to be ex-husband? Homer Simpson. (But better-looking and more patently evil. Imagine Homer’s evil twin… _shudder_) ---

My 7th-grade science teacher _was_ Mr. Garrison from _South Park_. Looked exactly like him, had the same voice, and was very, very odd. The only thing he lacked was Mr. Hat. I have mentioned this to the few junior-high classmates I keep in touch with, and they gasp, “Omigod, you’re right, he _was_ Mr. Garrison!” ---

I had a Mrs. Krabapple teacher in 11th grade. She looked kind of like her, she had that long-time teacher “I don’t give a damn” way about her, and she even had a voice similar to hers! The only thing missing was smoking in the back of the room when we watched film strips. ---

I used to work with two Dougs. One tall and skinny with buck teeth and long ears, and one short and stout about the girth. Whenever we would get a telephone call requesting Doug, we would ask “Which one? Bugs or Porky?” ---

I’m not sure if this counts, but one of my high school teachers was the spitting image of Kane, the bald villain from the first “Command & Conquer” game. Same beard, same smirk, same build (but a much nicer guy :)). ---

I went to a Christian school, and our teacher looked EXACTLY like Ned Flanders. He had the same gentle personality, but wasn’t the kind of fellow that would refuse to let his kids buy candy because of a cartoon devil on the box. Nor did he say, “Diddly.” ---

Our President George W. Bush looks like Alfred E. Neuman, the mascot of _Mad Magazine_. “What, Me Worry…About World Opinion?” Come to think on it, photos of Prince Charles, taken when he was a boy, showed him with a missing front tooth. There _was_ a certain look about him…and his ears. Hmmmm… ---

Our department director reminds me of Fred Flintstone. He’s just a little on the pudgy side and has a long torso and short legs. His goatee reminds me of Fred’s five o’clock shadow. The guy who was below him (the department supervisor) was kind of short and laughed like Barney Rubble. The VP’s personality and manerisms are nothing like Mr. Burns, but he sort of resembles him. ---

How could this thread go so long without the mention of a Comic Book Guy. I once told a guy who worked in a comic book store where I buy my comic books that he was the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. He said “I get that all the time.” Even Matt Groening has said “I can’t tell you how many times people have told me ‘I know who you based him on. The comic book guy up the street.’ I have to tell them ‘No, it’s every comic bookstore guy in America.’” ---

I used to think that this guy who did some work for us looked like butthead. The guy was a jerk too. Then when my daughter and I went to the first B&B movie, who walks into the theater all by himself to watch his double up on the screen but this same guy. What a coincidink. ---

I have a friend who reminds me of Gretchen from Recess. I swear glasses and all, plus she knows everything. Thens theres the unnecessarily happy chick I know who reminds me of Buena Girl from Mucha Lucha.
