Who Does 200,000 Square Feet Mall Stores?

I stand corrected. IKEA in KC.

The IKEA building in New Haven was constructed adjacent to this landmark Brutalist building by Marcel Breuer. IKEA wanted to demolish the whole building but was talked out of it, although they did remove part of the building.

One major clue is in the bolded words.
Big-box stores (Target,Walmart, Loews hardware,etc.-and all supermarkets) are always one story.
I’ve heard that it’s much more efficient for the staff to unload trucks and keep the shelves stocked if everything is on one level. ]

Target stores are not always on one level. The one in Willow Grove PA moved into a shuttered Sears Roebuck. A new construction store in Merrifield VA is the anchor to a parking structure for a mixed use development of art house movie theatre, restaurants, boutiques, and condominium apartments. Same layout in Maryland off 270 and 370 interchange. Each store has escalators for the grocery carts.

I live in the Bay Area CA and have a 2 story Target and a 2 story Wal Mart within 4 miles.

Queens, NY resident here, and the Target nearest to me is on the third and fourth floors of a mall.
