Who does this guy remind you of?

To me he looks like an older fatter Keaneu Reeves.

oops forgot the link

I’m not sure I see the resemblance. Keanu has a strong, masculine nose - Edward IV had a dainty, sloping, slightly feminine one. Keanu has pretty full lips - Edward IV had a very small mouth and narrow, pursed lips. Keanu has overall “dark” features (he is part Hawaiian after all) whereas Edward IV looks about as WASP-y as you can get.

There are a lot of paintings of Edward IV but almost all of them are copies of the original, detailed portrait with the psychedelic orange tunic. I was able to find one, though, that was different, apparently depicting him as a younger man. (Here it is.) In THAT picture, he really does look like a younger version of Tobin Bell (Jigsaw) as someone else suggested (although I don’t see a resemblance in the original picture I posted.) I doubt that he enjoyed cruel tortures though, since Edward was supposed to have been a remarkably kind, even-handed and personable ruler. (His brother Richard III has a reputation as a real SOB, though this may be largely based in fiction.)

He would have been a WASC at that point, though…

I know, it’s weird, but even with the pic you posted, he still resembles (to me) Keanu, more than the others, especially the actor that played Q, his nose is way too big.

I think that Keanu’s eyes and eyebrows and somewhat flat face are what make them seem similar to me. I don’t see the John Lithgow resemblance, his eyes are way too big and kinda bulgy. King Edward’s look almost asian to me.

Meryl Streep, that’s who!

I didn’t read any responses, but the second picture really looks like John Lithgow.

I’m thinking James Spader.

Did anyone actually have any idea what this guy looked like?

The National Portrait Gallery has a bunch of pictures of him that all look like COMPLETELY different people.

One

Two

Three

Five

Six

Seven (Looks like Kyle Maclachlan)

Eight (Looks like Jon Lovitz)

Is this some kind of a fucking joke? Not one of those portraits of Edward IV looks remotely like any of the other ones.

Oh yeah and just for fun…

The pics in the OP remind me a bit of Brendan Fehr currently on one of the CSI shows, but there is someone else that I know looks much ore like him that I can’t think of.

How about George Sanders? That concave face and prominent chin in the second picture suggested it to me. And your sketch in the British suit…well, I never saw Sanders without one of his very British suits.

Reminds me a bit of Chris Burke better known as “Corky” from Life Goes On. I’m trying to think though… there’s someone else who has the straight nose and little button mouth. Who is the guy who looks like Ashley Johnson?

Yeah, I’m glad more people are responding to this…he does resemble John Lithgow but there’s definitely someone else, and younger, that I’m thinking of, as I’ve said.

Furthermore what is the deal with all the vastly different portraits? Did this guy dramatically change in appearance over the course of his life, or did the artists simply do a horrible job of representing what he actually looked like?

Oh, I remember who I was thinking of: a young Julian Lennon. I could only remember that it was a guy who sang.

ETA: And that reminds me of Ian Hart who has played John Lennon on film.

Missed edit. This is a better picture of Ian Hart in his younger days.

There’s also Nicholas Rowe who played Young Sherlock Holmes.

Oh, and he looks a little like Josh Groban.

Not trying to sound too harsh but I see very little resemblance in Julian Lennon other than his eyes, and almost none whatsoever in that second guy.

As long as we’re going by the original portrait (this one) which is the most detailed and realistically-drawn, and so by assumption the most accurate representation of what the man actually looked like, neither of those guys really fit the bill.

Julian Lennon seems to have a rather weak chin - Edward had quite a strong, round one, like Kyle Maclachlan. Julian’s nose is wide and points down - Edward’s is thin and points up.
