# Who else laughs at their own jokes?

I’d say deadpan, too. Or that you have a dry sense of humor.
I’ve never made it through a joke without collapsing into giggles before the punchline. I get the feeling that people are usually laughing at _me_ rather than my joke.

I had a friend who did this. She’d crack some inane gag, often either unfunny or - worse - plain illogical, and then laugh till she cried.
I wished I could do it then, and I wish I could do it now. Instead I can barely laugh at anyone’s jokes, let alone my own, because I can always guess the punchline a few seconds before they tell me.

The other day I brought an orange to my creative writing class from lunch. The whole time all I could think of was that Simpsons where Homer teaches that class about marriages.
Smithers: Simpson! SIMPSON! Are you listening?
Homer: Oh, yeah. Very funny.
Moe: No you’re not, you’re just eating that damn orange!
I couldn’t stop snickering about that the whole class.

I’m big into zippy one liners, which, while hilarious at the time, aren’t really memorable a while after the fact. I offer this up, however:
Me, strolling through the classroom, singing something. I stroll up to my friend’s desk, knock all his papers and books off, and resume merrily on my way, singing “Woah, woah, I’m an asssshole!” I had stomach pains from laughing so hard at my own self.
On preview, perhaps you had to be there.
