Who else loves Lord Peter Wimsey?

Actually “As my Whimsy takes me”

I cheated and looked it up

One thing about Lord Peter, you don’t have to guess the back story. With the Who’s Who entry and the postscript from his Uncle “Panderus” you have a pretty complete biography!

Very true, this also applies to life in Oxford. I’m sorry to tell anyone thinking of visiting that students no longer wear gowns (except for exams) and they don’t get rounded up by Bulldogs for being out without leave. Mind you, the streets and buildings are still there. Don’t know if they’re still going but at one time you could get a guided tour of the locations from Gaudy Night .

I can’t add much to what’s been written here, but I’m another Lord Peter Wimsey fan.
One of my favorite incidents occurs in a short story set after he and Harriet have been married for a few years after they’ve been married and have a few children. It’s not germaine to the plot, but they have a houseguest who has very definite ideas on how to raise children, despite having no children herself.

In the Teeth of the Evidence is a collection of short stories which has only two involving Lord Peter, but they’re both good ones. It’s in my briefcase for lunchtime reading.

I love everything Dorothy Sayers wrote, and especially Lord Peter. I forget what book it’s in , but there’s one scene involving Peter and Harriet and the words “My Lord” right after their wedding that is totally captivating. And The Nine Tailors was quite baffling at first because I had no idea what change ringing was! I loved the video series, and I still take it out of the library from time to time.
