I remember reading an article in Newsweek a few years ago which discusses a meeting during which Clinton proposed doing that - he said something along the lines of “Why can’t we send in the special forces teams in black masks to just assassinate him in his camp?” His military advisors (actual generals) thought it was a horrible idea and dissuaded him. ---
