This coverage really seperated the teleprompter reading dim bulbs from those newscasters who are actually awake for a significant portion of every day. I mainly watched NBC and CNN, both were OK, CNN was much more well done and complete, but kinda dull. Bernard Shaw sure seems like a good one to me. NBC and Brokaw had me waiting for something to snicker at without being insulting, I especially liked the football analogies, and the factiod about the Redskins being a good predictor. On the otherhand the CNN folks in Austin and Nashville were pathetic, and the entire FOX crew either has had or needs a lobotomy. Never heard two people stammer and stutter more often on national TV including Beavis and Butthead. ---

My favorite Election Night moment was the ever zany Sam Donaldson refering to the late Mel Carnahan as simply the “Dead Man”. Wow, Sam…cold blooded aren’t we? I swear to god that Donaldson is a Romulan. ---

Man, I missed all of Rather’s good stuff (I was watching NBC). When I did switch over to CBS for a bit, I remember thinking, “Hm, there’s a little down-home twang creeping into Danny-boy’s voice.
