I haven’t, to my knowledge. I’ve been here almost nine years. I’ve been jumped on for pit threads I’ve started, but never been pitted. I’m not very controversial, it seems. 😉 Mods, if this is poll territory, please move it to IMHO. Thanks! ---

I’m not sure if _I_ was pitted, but people who were being nice to me/defending me/what have you were pitted and I was painted as a crazy person or a trollish liar by Diogenes the Cynic back in July or so last year. I don’t feel controversial. One of the reasons I don’t post a lot is because I have very strong opinions but I don’t want to constantly be in fights with people. And the posts that led to the pitting were not even some of the more “controversial” things I’ve expressed – it was just me telling a story about something I experience. Strange how that works out… 🙂 ---

I’ve been pitted by a couple of trolls, one of whom has since mellowed out (I find myself enjoying **ivan astikov** ’s posts these days). Another turned out to be one of **SBSO** ’s socks. It was all pretty transparent throughout. I think I’ve been pitted for some other things too, but they all managed to blow over. I think I have only been seriously pitted once. It was actually quite fun as the instigator quite embarrassed himself. \*\*Liberal \*\*also pitted me twice but they were very mild and in one it was a quick clarification. I believe the other was described as “Liberal MPSIMS Jim” ---

I think I was pitted once, and I totally deserved it. Someone started a thread about a stupid thing they did on a boat once as a teenager, meaning it to be a lighthearted “heh, I sure did some stupid things as a kid, how 'bout you?” thread, and I misunderstood both the intent and the tone. I went in and threadshat all over the place, a shrieking harpy straight out of a Coast Guard manual. My bad. ---

But, apparently, my different beliefs were enough for Dio to think I shouldn’t even be treated civilly. I got pitted once, but it was a pretty lame affair. I’ve said and done far worse things on this board without being pitted. I was sort of disappointed that it wasn’t a more creative, or at very least deserved, pitting. Even worse, i was pitted for something that i said in a Pit thread. That’s got to be the lamest of all, because you can already tell the person what you think of them in that thread. ---

I’ve never been pitted. I am the sort of person who tries to be as least offensive as possible. There won’t ever be a reason to Pit me (knock on wood, I guess!) One time someone I know IRL posted a Pit thread sort of on behalf of me, but it was way in to “don’t post about real-life member drama” realm and it got shut down.
