I was enjoying a nice artichoke, and suddenly wondered if anyone here has never eaten one. For the purposes of this poll, I mean has anyone here never eaten any part of an artichoke. ---

Not only have I never tasted one, I don’t even know what an artichoke looks like. ---

I never have. I’m not opposed to the idea; it’s just not on my vegetable-buying radar when I head to the produce section. ---

I have never eaten a raw one or a complete one…I have had artichoke hearts in some kind of oil, which is really yummy. ---

I don’t even know how to eat an artichoke. Nor do I trust any food whose name contains the word “choke.” ---

(Probably deviating from the desired response, but) Artichoke is one of my favourite vegetables. It’s quite a common pizza topping over here in Europe-land, and absolutely delicious. ---

Discard the rest of the leaf and proceed to the next. When the leaves have gotten too small for comfortable eating, remove the rest. Use a spoon to scoop out the ‘pin-feathers’ (immature leaves). Be sure to get rid of them all. Dip the heart in your butter (or mayo) and eat it. This is the best part, and the preliminary leaf-eating is a nice prelude. ---

I’ve never knowingly eaten one. I have however tried French, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Dutch, Hungarian and Russian. Plus ostrich, shark and kangaroo. ---
