You’ve outlived Ivan the Terrible by two days. He was a Russian czar who slaughtered 3,000 of his own subjects. He died on March 18, 1584, 374 years before you were born. I wonder if I can change my name to Satchmo the Terrible? Or even Satchmo the Great and Terrible. Pay no attention to the poster behind the curtain… ---

You’ve outlived Mike Evans by one day. He was an actor and writer instrumental in two of the first black sitcoms, “The Jeffersons” and “Good Times”. He died of throat cancer on December 14, 2006, when you were 52 years old. Also, I was two years old when Humphrey Bogart died. ---

Today, at 38 years and 199 days, I’m half as old as **Ayn Rand** when she died. I’ve outlived: **Joseph Smith** by almost two weeks. Take that ya Mormon founding basterd! **Francis Horner** by three weeks. **Louis XVI of France** by 2 months. **Mary Wollstonecraft** by 2 months, she wrote _Vindication of the Rights of Woman_ and was the mother of Mary Shelley. _FIRE BAD!_ ---

I’m not sure I"get" this site at all. I’ve outlived some serial murderer- fine. However, he doesn’t share my birthday or have any connection at all. There are literally millions of people who died at a younger age than I am now. ---

I think it’s intended as a reflection of the point Tom Lehrer was making. It’s not seeing that some anonymous person died at a younger age than you’ve lived to. It’s seeing that somebody was able to accomplish something like becoming President in the same amount of time that you’ve currently lived. ---

NFM has outlived Tobias Smollett by two days. He was an editor, translator, critic and author of the picaresque “The Expedition of Humphry Clinker” (1771). He died of an intestinal disorder on September 17, 1771, 190 years before NFM was born. Poor guy, it sounded like a painful death. ---
