# Who here still lies to their mother?

Me, too!! 😃  
My mom is still living in 1950, when she could buy a week’s worth of groceries for our family of six for $10.00.  
“Really, Mom, that new Janet Evanovich book was on the $2.00 table at Barnes and Noble. My new leather Keds were on sale at K-Mart for $4.00. No, that Iams cat food doesn’t cost more than Purina. My new Coach purse was only $15, isn’t that great? No, that Sebastian hairspray isn’t really $10; I get it on sale at Wal-Mart. Yes, I **know** your first house cost less then my car. It’s called Inflation.”

Sex and drugs.

But she asked me to. I am all gung ho about being totally honest. Usully people mention what they don’t want to hear from me, even if they screw up and ask. (i am the queen of TMI)

Mom never wants to know if a guy touches me. (This came before I was having sex. She flipped out over me kissing a guy. since then, my entire intimate life is a great black out. I go out with guys, and come home on time. end of discussion.) since then she has added not wanting to know that I’m on birth control.

So I just take care of my business and she tries not to ask.

I do. I’m 28 years old, and still lie to my mother. She’d freak out if she knew half the shit that I did. She thinks that my stand-up comedy is a hobby. I’ve conned her into thinking I have a day job, because she’d worry obsessively about me getting by otherwise. When **Supergirlfriend** and I were dating, I lied to my mother about a few details of **Sgf** ’s life (like the fact that she is still, technically, married. And has two children. My mother has this thing about any of her three boys getting into a ready-made family). She now knows, but since **Sgf** and I aren’t together anymore, I don’t suppose it matters much.
