I’m not an exhibitionist and I’m not a prude either. Obviously significant others have seen the goods. Most friends have seen me naked when I’ve changed clothes or something like that. Doctor, of course. ---

Up until a year ago when I entered an exclusive relationship it would have been casual sexual partners too. As for the doctor, I don’t remember the last time a doctor has seen me in a state of undress but it has happened and I’m sure it will happen again. In a locker room I will change my clothes but I do it modestly. I am not embarrassed but there is no reason to walk around naked in front of everyone. Or to stand at the mirror and use the gym provided hair dryer to dry your balls. ---

The poll left out some options: ( ) Anyone who was in the crowd during Mardi Gras/Spring Break/Burning Man ( ) Anyone who bought a ticket to or rented the movie where I did a nude scene ( ) Anyone who’s been to the club where I dance None apply to me personally but they are venues where some people get seen naked. ---

I think the list of people who aren’t allowed to see me naked would be shorter: people, including friends, outside of a RenFaire or kink context, and family except for my mom and sister. One of the RenFaires I went to had what turned out into a communal shower, in that it had had curtains dividing the stalls, but they opened, broke, etc. It was not sexy. Some of my camp friends have probably seen me changing clothes, but I wasn’t flaunting it and they weren’t watching. It’s just skin, who cares? ---

I just found it really interesting to think how she must have been feeling and what she must have been thinking sitting there, watching herself onscreen, while the the room full of people were also enjoying her nudity while she sat, clothed, among them. Obviously she was OK with it, but I guess you really have to be more comfortable than most to see yourself naked while surrounded by people who are also watching you naked. ---

Actually, under normal conditions the only one who sees me naked is my wife. I do however sometimes go to events and parties where nudity occurs, in which case the answer is ‘any friends and random strangers who are in the right place at the right time’. I’m actually going to be at a party this weekend where if all goes well many of the partygoers will end up nude. ---

Covered under “any strangers in appropriate setting.” The nude beach is just an example. ---

I don’t know about “allowed to”, but … There is a patio door in my kitchen/dining room. Because I can’t see much out of it, other than the 4~5ft high wall between me and my neighbours, I didn’t bother putting a curtain up. Then one day I discovered the ground our houses are built on is one a deceptive slope, and as such their garden is only a foot or so below the top of that wall, and anyone in their garden can look straight into the kitchen/dining room. “oh well” says my friend “it’s not like you were naked” um… :smack: ---

There’s been multiple times already when I’ve gotten out of the shower and not remembered that I opened the blinds to let in light. Luckily unless a person tries, only the dogs can see me. And they don’t care. ---

Yeah, a friend of mine is a photographer, and is married to a stunningly beautiful woman whom he met when she modeled for him. Their home is filled with his artwork, a good percentage of which is nudes of her. It’s really beautiful work, but it can be a bit distracting to talk to her with a nude of her in the background. Clothes are something I put on to be warm and comfortable and protected, or else something I put on because other folks expect it. It wasn’t always that way: At 11 I was very body-conscious and shy and did not want to be unclothed in front of anyone. I can therefore totally relate to someone who still doesn’t like to be unclothed in front of people. But if I had protection against being arrested for indecent exposure or violence based on me being naked & etc, so that those aren’t concerns, I can’t really think of any context in which it would bother me to be naked if I would not be cold or overly exposed to thorns etc. Lots of folks have some kind of recurrent dream about “going to class naked” or “being in class naked”. Mine is that I’m leaving the dorm and realize “Awww, dangit, I forgot to put on clothes! Well fuckit. I don’t feel like going back in just for clothes”. So I head on without, deciding to brazen it out like it’s an unconventional fashion choice, and only as I stride across campus do I realize it’s way beyond unconventional and probably will not be tolerated and that I probably won’t even get the opportunity to rethink this and turn around and retreat back to my dorm. ---

I agree with Thoreau, who thought clothes were useful only for keeping warm. Nevertheless, out of respect for social dogma, I accept John Stuart Mill’s view that our liberty must be limited to not running around nude out of a decent respect for the opinions of mankind.
