1°-12° C. It rarely drops to freezing (or below) in this part of Australia, but that’s a pretty typical range in winter. Add in overcast and damp (not much rain), and it’s just generally unpleasant.
I live in Far North Queensland and it’s meant to be high season for both domestic and international tourists. The hotels and hostels are pretty much empty, and the many car and campervan hire places are full to the brim with unused vehicles.
Having said that, I’ve booked a hotel stay in the rainforest for next weekend. First time away since March.
We stayed in one last week, we had had no power to the farm for several days, so several days with the generator just powering the freezers and fridge and air conditioner - so the night before a major medical appointment we stayed in a motel so I could get a shower to destank myself. No idea, I can go 3 or 4 days between showers if a freaking shower is available but the instant there is no shower available I sweat my self into a right good stank. sigh
