# Who is still using dial-up ISP?

It’s just about bearable if you use Opera as your browser, because when you get bored waiting for one page to load, the chances are one of the five million billion others you’re currently browsing will be showing something interesting instead. Go and get Opera, for pity’s sake. It’s FREE!!!

Yep, it’s the irony of parenthood, I’ve discovered - I actually have more free time at work than I do at home now. That’s why I didn’t post a birth announcement here until she was a week old - that’s the day I went back to work.

(So, you used to be **pcubed**? _sigh_ Somebody’s gonna have to draw up a chart so we can keep track of these things… 😛 )

Me, right now.

But that’s only because my DSL is down for the THIRD time in TWO months. :mad: Yes, I am shouting!

And since I don’t have a second phone line, whenever I’m on the internet I can’t get any calls. Since I am looking for a job, this is a very bad thing. So I have to limit my time on the internet while DSL is down. ☹

When I have DSL, not only can I leave it up for hours, surf the boards and the job sites, and get through my morning comics in minutes, but I listen to internet radio, and sometimes watch streaming videos on CNN.

So? My ISP which offers DSL, said that you can use a dialup modem when that above scene happens to get to your account for no extra charge. Does yours?

I am, 56k and AOL, Mom bought the computer, so no upgeades anytime soon. We have a 2 year old Compaq Presario.
