I know who I like and I donā€™t care if they are cool or not. Does that make me cool as well? As soon as you give the title of ā€œcoolestā€ a crown, it makes it less cool, IMO. ---

My personal coolest person is guitarist [Warren Haynes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Haynes). I first saw him in Govā€™t Mule, when they opened for Jethro Tull. I had never heard of them, but they blew me away and IMO upstaged the main act. Heā€™s mainly rooted in Southern Rock, but heā€™s crossed genres so many times, particularly when Govā€™t Mule bassist Allen Woody died. Haynes and drummer Matt Abst put out the call for a tribute album and got so much interest from other bassists, they put out 2 volumes of music, _The Deep End_. Bass contributions to the CDs came from Jack Bruce, formerly of Cream, John Entwistle of The Who, Mike Watt of Minutemen, Les Claypool of Primus, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chris Squire of Yes and Stefan Lessard of Dave Matthews Band among others. Haynes has also jammed with the The Allman Brothers Band, Blues Traveler, Jack Casady, Les Claypool, David Allan Coe, Dave Matthews Band, The Dead, The Derek Trucks Band, Dickey Betts Band, Peter Frampton, Kevn Kinney, Little Milton, Phil Lesh and Friends, John Scofield, Ann Wilson, and Bernie Worrell. He clearly loves the music industry and associates with a plethora of recording artists, yet doesnā€™t act like a diva and think the world revolves around him. Heā€™s an inspiration to me. ---

We donā€™t have an agreed upon definition, but mine would include an element of timelessness. The latest trends in clothing etc. look lame a few years from now. Iā€™ll say Barack Obama. I think Iā€™m going to go with **Stephen Fry** - actor, writer, playwright, documentarian, intellectual-about-time and supporter of gay rights, atheism and proper grammar. Most importantly, if you ever tried to call him cool heā€™d probably vehemently disagree, which of course makes him even cooler. ---

Me. My grand daughter had me announce the gender reveal for my first great grandchild. Her fatherā€™s side of the family had a total melt down over this. And like all my grand children, I will be the first person to give my great grandson his first taste of ice cream. ---

Iā€™m shocked that no oneā€™s said Frank Sinatra or James Dean. For me, after Obama and Prince, itā€™s a tight race between Harry Styles, Will Smith, and Rhianna. Coolest fictional character would be the I-donā€™t-often-drink-beer-but-when-I-do-guy. Also the guy who did the Trivago commercials. ---
