That Tosh.O guy. He does standup, right? All I know is I want to punch him in the face every time I see him on TV, and I don’t seem to get quite that worked up for anyone on the list.
I put Sarah Silverman. Her schtick isn’t funny. Her show wasn’t funny. She’s not funny. I have no idea why she was so popular. I’ve literally never laughed at a single thing she’s done.
There were so many that I can’t stand that I couldn’t pick just one. One newish (? maybe newish, I’m kinda out of touch) that I really despise is Dane Cook. Ugh. I will sit through lots of lame comics just to see if there is maybe something that will make me smirk. Nope, not him.
ETA: guess I wasn’t paying attention very well to the list, since he’s on there. Oh well!

I voted for Sarah Silverman because
- Bill Engval wasn’t a choice
- No one else had voted for her.
First, Bill Engval - A member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, he’s the weakest link of the four. I think he must have spent 5 years to come up with his catch-phrase “here’s your sign” so he could sell it to the huddled masses who think he’s funny. The BCCT is ok for what it is… Foxworthy is consistent and funny, and he’s also clean, a rare thing these days for a comedian. And his line “you might be a redneck” is a legitimate line from his act. he made it up before selling t-shirts and books, so I give him a pass. Engval should be fellating Foxworthy every night for being picked for that gold mine of a tour. He is a hack who laughs at his own jokes so often, I’d like to smash his face with a louisville slugger.
Larry the Cable Guy is similarly annoying with his “Git’er done!” bullshit, but he has some very funny material. Engval hasn’t made me smile once.
The star of that BCCT is Ron White, who tells some of the funniest jokes I’ve heard in a long time. He’s a story teller, and it seems most come from his own life, but I could listen to him all night. He’s great.
Bob Saget. Can someone explain to me how he’s made a living in show business? He’s not funny. His blue act (swearing for the sake of swearing) is awful. I believe he tries very hard to wipe the stain of Full House off of himself by saying “fuck” alot, but he sucks. He has pictures of someone important having sex with a goat. He has to. There is no other explanation.
Bobcat Goldthwaite - I could never get passed his screaming, heavy breathing schtick to actually decide if he was funny. He’s so damn annoying I never bothered to try.
George Lopez - not funny. It’s not funny to scream at the audience, and do stereotypical mexican accents to sound like the Frito Bandito.
Richard Lewis - what an asshole. If you ever need an example of a Jewish conspiracy that runs hollywood, just pull Richard Lewis out as proof that it’s true. He has no talent. Unless walking around on stage, running your hands through your hair, and talking about your jewish guilt for and hour constitutes funny. I don’t even think any of my jewish friends find him funny, so his cultural/religious humor doesn’t hit the right note for his target audience.
I’ll end this post with my selection, Sarah Silverman. She seems to be billed as the thinking person’s comic, but I don’t find her material any more cerebral than the average hack. I admit to having a bias against women comediennes to begin with, so I’m picking a scab here, but I don’t hate them all. Amy Madigan, Ellen Degeneres, and that chick who was in the movie with Uma Thurman (the name will come to me after I post) are very witty comics. Lisa lampinelli? What a pig. She’s really hard to listen to. She’s trying to be the female Don Rickles and it’s not good. Anyway, Silverman seems to get too much credit for too little talent. I’ve watched dozens of you tube clips to see what I’m missing, and I’m still missing it. She annoys me to every fiber of my being. So much so that I start picking her apart instead of listening to her jokes. For example, her nostrils are too dark. They scare me. When that’s the kind of crap I remember after her set, what else is there? I’d watch Carrot Top on a continuous loop for 24 hours before watching another Silverman bit on purpose.
Probably because she’s hot.

Yes, I know she’s not to everyone.. but I’m guessing the majority probably find her so.
He really has degraded over the years. He used to be really funny. Back in the 80s, I used to think he was the funniest guy around, but over the last ten or twelve years, he’s turned angry and bitter and too mocking in his shows.
To me, nobody could surpass the annoyance of Carrot Top.
Sam Kinison. Guy was all gimmick, and his gimmick of screaming all the time sucked.
