Just wondering… It seems like the majority of Dopers are from larger urban areas (I may be wrong) but who is really “out there”…in the tundra, in the middle of “nowhere”… It would be interesting to hear where you all are. ---

I live in a Perth, Western Australia. Perth is a fairly populous city, but apparently the most isolated in the world. The closest “city” to Perth is Adelaide, some 2800 kilometres to the east. ---

Sitting at my computer, I look out over about 50 acres of cotton. My nearest neighbor is about 100 yards away and we have a volunteer fire department (also no cable TV). Not really isolated, but surely not urban, either. 🙂 ---

35 Kms from the Arabian Gulf. Across a few sand dunes. In the path of the Iraqi No fly zone so we hear the sorties twice a day. Pretty dusty here:cool: ---
