# Who is the oldest member still posting? Not sure if this should go in MPSIMS or IMHO, seems pretty mundane and pointless, but if the mods dissent… Thread has probably been done before (it’s a natural), but rather than reviving a zombie, we’ll see how this one goes. In another thread (about alternative names if your’s had been picked), one poster (Dr. Fidelius) claimed there were only “30 or so” names chosen when he joined. But when I held the cursor over the name and the small info box appeared, it showed he was the 63rd person registered on the SDMB. Which is still a notable achievement, but I wondered about the rest. So who is the ‘oldest’ in terms of registration on the board that is still posting? It will have to beat the good Doctor’s number of 63. As for me, I am the 44,355th person to register/join on the SDMB. We’re now well over 120,000, so I guess that makes me a relative oldest, albeit not quite in the “get off my lawn” range. Anyone else want to share their numbers? ---

The oldest active member is [Ed Zotti](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php), member number 6, and the alter ego of Cecil Adams. [Lynn Bodoni](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php), member number 2, last posted in 2013. There is no member number 1, for some odd reason, and members 3 through 5 were only active in 2000. ---
