The heart of Syria.
We don’t believe in cannibalism. That’s the Catholics and they’re in Lebanon.
Now, now. It’s all ritualized. You just can’t get good organized cannibalism these days.
Are human hearts hallal?
No wonder there was so much worry about chemical warfare. That just ruins the flavor.
You’re a heartless bastard
That’s nonsense! I’ve got a really nice one in the fridge.
Heart goes nicely with liver paté, chianti and some fa..fa..fava beans
.
Just heard on the radio the other day: Hezbollah has announced its troops are in Syria fighting for Assad, because . . . heh-heh-heh . . . because if Assad loses . . . Heh-heh . . . Syria might fall under the control of Islamic extremists! :p:p:p
Did McCain really go over there and take some smiling happy snaps with the friendly and recently bathed rebels or was that the Onion? Are we supposed to forget they torture, rape, mutilate, kill, desecrate and eat their enemies?
Russia is selling Assad missiles. The Uk & France are selling the rebels weapons.
How is this helping?
What do you expect would happen if Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah continue to arm, train and assist Assad’s army while the rebels get almost no help at all?
Land wars in Asia. The only way to win is not to play.
Assad wins, stability returns. Much less death. The rebels can lay low and think about what it is they want to accomplish beyond, “destroy all enemies,” 'cause even U2 will have a problem selling tickets to a Slaughterapalooza Genocide and Cannibalism AID concert.
.
All opposition groups in Syria share the goal of removing Assad. They’ve been on target from day one. Don’t forget that Assad, as a matter of policy, is also butchering his opponents, both militant and simply disobedient while the militants engage in war crimes on an individual basis. If you believe that Assad is a gentler butcher than the FSA and militant groups, you are mistaken by a wide margin.
Then I suppose I am mistaken. We either have Assad, or we have worse than even your worst Assad nightmare. If you want to dilly-dally and pump both sides full of weaponry until there is nothing left, go for it.
I think I’ve decided only one side should get weapons. The quicker this is over, the better.
What’s your plan for the refugees?
Refugees?
This might be the light-at-the-end:
Of course, neither elections nor referenda will be practical as long as the country remains in a state of civil war . . . Soooooo . . .
Oh, if your definition of “winning” is “many Asians should die,” then it’s easy to win a land war in Asia. In fact, it’s hard to lose one.
