She stayed in the background but had tremendous influence on Ronald Reagan.

She was a horrible first lady. Actively disliked by many. She was unlikable. Interfered in the Presidency to its detriment in the 2nd term. Embarrassed the office with her consulting of woo merchants, I mean Astrologers.
