Reading another thread about favorite songs, I decided to start another thread about favorite instrumentals. I second the motion for _YYZ_ and _La Villa Strangiato_ (sp?) I also nominate _Overture_, from Rush’s “2112”. How about _Tequila_? It only has **one** word in it… I also like Beethovin’s _Fur Elise_, and _The Nutcracker Suite_. * * * You say “cheesy” like that’s a **BAD** thing. ---

Metroshane, _Eugene’s Trick Bag_ is going to be on Steve Vai’s 10 disc box set that is coming out. A guitar mag, Guitar One I think, recently transcribed the song. All I could think of while seeing the tablature was “Whoa!” Rousseau, _Tweezer Reprise_ is great. When I said _You Enjoy Myself_, I meant the performance on **A Live One** in particular. ---

I like words myself. Most instrumentals are wank-fests for overindulgant hacks, and most jams at shows are excuses for me to go past the dazed hippies and hit the head. That said, I like Satriani… The new Beck album is most cool. Metallica did an instumrntal, _Call of Ktulu_ that was plausible (before they started to suck). I, too, am talking of the version from **A Live One**. To tell you the truth, I don’t own a copy of **A Picture of Nectar**. But I have heard the album, and they closed the show with it when I saw them over the summer. Hey, I didn’t even think of REM. But I give _Endgame_ the nod over _New Orleans Instrumental_.
