# Who really killed Nancy? I don't think it was Sid after all.

Courtney was even in the movie “Sid and Nancy” but she didn’t play Nancy.

Meh. I think the junkie-robber theory is perfectly plausible but what’s the likelihood that a junkie-robber from 1979 is still alive and a threat to society? What’s really to be gained from reopening the case? To clear Sid Vicious’ good name?
Even people who believe Sid killed Nancy don’t think it was an evil sadistic premeditated murder- general thought is that it happened in an outburst during drugged semi-consciousness. Nobody really thinks of Sid as a cold blooded murderer- even people who disliked him. And for the people who _did_ like him, Nancy’s death and his death are part of the punk fairy tale.
The punk fairy tale is what would survive at this point. If the case were reopened and Sid’s name were cleared, people would forget the new-found truth soon after it dropped from the news. The punk fairy tale is what would be remembered.
