Is this the Dire Straits, or Deep Purple perhaps? All I can remember is a part of the refrain which says “ashes, ashes, all fall down; I say ashes, ashes, all fall down…” (c. mid-1980s?)

No, this is not the kid’s nursery rhyme, silly! Just borrowed from it! Please tell me the song and artist, if you can name that tune!
