In all seriousness…one problem I think people underestimate is one of heirarchy.
Picture being in a Heirarchy and if you don’t like your boss…tough. You can’t leave. However, your boss can’t fire you so how does he make you do your work? It make work for some time but eventually you are going to tell your boss what he can do with himself.
How do you handle promotions? Could you imagine being in a situation where you hate your boss but could never be promoted? Promotion by assassination might start to look good…even if you LIKE your boss.
How about interpersonal relationships? What if you are a young, horny guy but all the women reject you? Maybe you started out with 50/50 split but 3 women decide to share the same guy…do the 2 left out guys just have to live with that? What if they won’t? On Earth, you always have a chance of meeting someone new…but with 100 people you are stuck…and will stew…and stew…until you might just explode and do serious damage.
These are extremely serious issues that, I think, people grossly underestimate. If we do get out there…there will have to be serious reconsidering of society…you can’t just ignore the needs of particular people even if noone wants to help meet them…so how do you meet them? Rigid heirarchies probably won’t work but what do you replace them with? Human life is precious but sometimes someone will have to be executed not for crimes but because they are not fitting in with the group/having issues…how do determine this?
Colonization in space will require entire new societies/culture.

Most Republicans. Australia started off as a penal colony and it eventually turned out okay. Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, Rush… It boggles the mind how much better off if the small minded bigots were just plain GONE.
There are a few good ones we could keep around though. It just amazes me that while not all Republicans are evil people most of the evil people in our society are Republicans…
