# Who Started this Phrase?

“Sweet Zombie Jesus” I heard it 3 times this week. They say it when something goes wrong.

My understanding is that it comes from the cartoon Futurama. “Sweet Zombie Jesus” and “Sweet Creeping Zombie Jesus” are the two variations I’ve heard, both credited to the character Professor Farnsworth. I can’t remember whether or not I’ve actually heard him say it on the show.
