I, still holding out some hope for humanity at the time, said to her, “C’mon, man, you know we can’t do that. I mean, who would decide?” (Of course, I knew that she and I would be completely capable of deciding on our own who made the cut, but that was beside the point. BTW, though we both generally dig children, neither of us has any, and we’ll be fine if we never do.)
