Who did voice overs for commercials like the old G.I. Joe action figure and some political ads. He had a deep, recognizable voice. I think he appeared briefly in the Richard Gere movie “power”. What is his name. I haven’t heard ads with his voice for a long time. Is he dead?

Jackson Beck?

His main claim to fame is for doing the voiceover for the old Superman TV show.

According to the imdb at least, he is still alive.
