# Who was this (Thor?) comic book monster

As a kid I had a used copy of what I think was a Thor? or Avengers? comic book, in which Thor fights a monster that swallows heroes, digests them, and then has the hero’s faces show up on his body. I seem to recall that he had little in the way of a head - just a mouth at the shoulders - with lots of screaming faces all over his arms and torso. Thor gets swallowed and then has to fight the villi in the creature’s intestines to keep from being digested. I forget how it ended.

If possible, I’d like to find out who or what that enemy was - if anyone can tell me what comic it was from, that would be a great bonus.

Sounds like [Atum](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atum_%28comics%29). AKA ‘the Godeater’.
