# Who was watching your polling place?

At my precinct in Denver, Colorado there was a [Moveon.org](http://Moveon.org) guy 50 feet out (legal distance from the poll), and a “legal rights voting team” table set up inside the precinct.

There was a Democrat and a Republican giving out sample ballots. (The Republican made a crude remark to my girlfriend while I was inside voting.)

Outside, loads of people handing out stuff and presumably keeping an eye on each other and the 100-foot rule.

Inside, I had two challengers from each of the two major parties, with occasional challenger-attorneys stopping by. I could never quite figure out what they were, actually, because their presence put them over the limit of two-challengers-per-party that we have in place here. They insisted they were a different sort of animal. They were the least of our worries and they weren’t causing disruptions so we didn’t make an issue of it.
