# Who was your first crush on?

My next door neighbor Julie. I was probably five or six years old. My older brother would torture me by singing “Julie, Julie, Julie do you love me?”

I moved away in 3rd grade, but my new school fed into the same high school as my old 'hood. So suddenly I was in classes with kids I hadn’t seen in 7+ years. It was kind of fun to reconnect, and I ended up having a serious, adult conversation with ‘Mary Lou’. Neither of us brought up the fact that we’d been each other’s first kiss.

(Come to think of it, NOT actually a crush: “So, what’s this kissing stuff? We should try it. Okay… That’s it? Oh, well, want to play soldiers? I’ve got a stick that’s a perfect sniper rifle.”)
