He’s essentially a bog standard California middle-of-the-road liberal, albeit oily and ambitious. He’s just not an unalloyed progressive. ---

Could we please discuss the person you think will win, and not argue against someone else’s choice? Also, the person who will supposedly control the President is not part of this, so Putin is out. This is only about who you think will be President, like it or not, when the 2028 election is over. ---

I give less than a one percent chance of Murphy/Whitmer being the exact ticket. But it’s a smart guess. With low certainty, I think the Democrats will win the presidency in 2028. And if they do, it is going to have been a time for a change year. So if the Democrats are actually going to win, there’s a more than normal chance of them nominating a dark horse like Murphy. ---

I think it will be Newsom. I do not want it to be Newsom, but I think he’s the best at telling the public what it wants to hear from the D side. I think the election will be Newsom vs Rubio. I think it will be close. I will be voting for Pritzker in the primary and holding my nose to vote for Newsom—all of this subject to change depending on what happens in the next 2½ years. ---

Nope, I think you’re absolutely, heartbreakingly, right. Everyone saying he’s dying, he has dementia, what’s wrong with his hands/neck/ankles, etc. are deluding themselves that he’s on his way out the door, health-wise. He has the best healthcare of anyone and they’ll keep him going at all costs. And he’ll keep a death grip (heh) on the office at all costs. ---
