I assume that JD was the stipulation for Musk to agree to donate $45 million a month to the Trump campaign. Thiel, Musk, and the other anti-lib technocrats are all in on Trump. ---

There’s one scenario in which Vance doesn’t help Trump, and that’s a repeat of 1/6. Trump was hoping Pence would make him president again (which Pence couldn’t do, but that’s beside the point.) But there is no scenario in which an incumbent president Trump is defeated by a Democrat in 2028 and now needs vice president Vance to save the day. By January 2029, Trump would have been at the end of his second term. ---

Based on spending, it looks like this may have been a signal that Trump is open for business, if any of the wealthiest tech CEOs want to buy some policy in the coming administration. I’m of the opinion that J. D. Vance is more baggage than help to the campaign. The announcement was lost in the shooting clutter and made zero impression that I could see. Probably the way Don the Con wants it. ---
