My two cents is that ultimately Trump decided that he needed somebody who wouldn’t upstage him. Trump wanted somebody who definitely wouldn’t steal the spotlight, and to be honest, whatever you think of them, both Gringrich and Christie are spotlight-stealer types. Pence won’t draw attention away from the phenomenon that is THE DONALD, and the Koch money doesn’t hurt either. ---

Ok, so the announcement’s delay comes on the heels of the Nice attacks. I wonder if he’s having second thoughts about how his VP pick can message future terror attacks.
