Either your dream host or a more realistic choice. I wouldn’t mind seeing Justin Timberlake try it again - he needs something to offset Love Guru. I saw new “American Idol” David Cook on a ‘Best Week Ever’ clip - and he was very good, hilarious. I’d like to see SNL give him a shot. or James McEvoy. Ok there are women I’d like to see too, I just can’t think of them right now. Does anyone else think it would be interesting to bring Jane Curtin back for a skit? No? ---

Barack Obama and John McCain (together) Stephen Colbert The Surviving NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME PLAYERS as a group (Akroyd, Murray, Chase, Morris, Curtin, Newman- whoever else I left out)- basically a “one more time” with some new sketches, current events, and perhaps updates on some of their classic characters (The Coneheads, “Jane You Geriatric Ignorant Slut”, the Czech brothers with Steve Martin/Akroyd, etc.) and current cast thrown in as needed. I think Akroyd and Curtin would be a great Bill and Hillary Clinton (especially with Obama around for a DRIVIN’ MISS HILLARY sketch with Akroyd as Boolie Clinton) ---

[/QUOTE] I think the show has changed too much for old and new casts to work together. And it’s not just “used to be great and now it’s lame”, either. Try to remember the early Weekend Update. Aykroyd and Curtin (and Chase, to some extent) played it like a real newscast; it was silly, but they never broke the fourth wall. Eventually, it became “ladies and gentlemen, Opera Man!” They used to have faith in the writing and the characters to be funny. It used to be sketch comedy, now it’s stand-up in costumes. I don’t know why that strikes me as signifigant, but it does. ---

[Howard Hesseman.](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0381606/) The man is a comic genius and the last time he hosted was the last time a monologue had any real meaning. His eulogy for John Belushi was funny and moving in equal measure. He’s also has the single funniest line (one of the few) in the upcoming movie [“The Rocker”](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031969/). Laughed myself sick at the line and his reading…the rest of the film, not so much. ---

You guys are so funny trying to get in your political jabs. :rolleyes: Geez, can’t you just have fun with the question as it was intended? I really enjoyed Brian Williams. I’d like to see more people like him. Matt Lauer might be pretty good. On the other hand, I frequently like the female guest hosts; Jessica Biel would be pretty good; Angelina Jolee might surprise. ---
