I was amazed when I checked the credits at Imdb on _Taxi Driver_ and found out that the pedophile whom Bickle waxes was Harvey Keitel! He’s 70 years old now, and I am mostly familiar with him from more latter-day roles, when he has a paunch, his voice is gravelly, he has lost a goodly portion of his hair, etc.

That’s not exactly it : he agreed to play Mace Windu on the condition that he “didn’t die like some punk”. I suppose Jackson didn’t want to reenact Deep Blue Sea 😃

The Hot Rock, with Robert Redford. Who plays the part of Policeman? Why, it’s Christopher Guest!
In Woody Allen’s Bananas, there is a young tough on the subway. The young tough in The Prisoner of 2nd Avenue looks remarkably the same. He should, as in both cases he is Sylvester Stallone. In the latter movie, there’s a throwaway role for a cab driver. “Where to, buddy?” is his only line. Nine years later that same actor would get the Oscar for best actor. It was F. Murray Abraham.

I just had the whoa right there. I saw that movie a million times but not for a while. He has changed a lot.

I mentioned that in a recent thread. He wasn’t a bad character actor in things like Hill Street Blues and King of New York. But then his ego got in the way.
Sometime after Cheers came on I noticed John Ratzenberger in _A Bridge Too Far_. He was one of the officers in Robert Redford’s unit.
I was only 8 when it came out so when I finally got around to seeing _One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest_ I was surprised to see Danny Devito and Christopher Lloyd as two of the patients. Brad Dourif was too but he didn’t get semi well known until a bit later.
