I understand that our very own Arnold Winklereid just got married, and is now on his honeymoon. Of course, I’m happy for him, and wish him well, but this also means that he’s away from the boards (or at least, he’d better be away, on his honeymoon!), and hence not able to do his moderating. Now, anybody can provide the link and welcome new posters, and in fact this may be our only chance to beat him to it, but what if something in Comments on Cecil’s Columns actually needs moderation? If a thread is posted to the wrong place, or someone needs a post edited, or whatnot, who’s handling it? Is an administrator (who I understand have moderatorial powers in all fora) subbing for him, or are we just leaving the place unmoderated until he gets back? ---

Arnold still moderates, his laptop is connected in the honeymoon suite, and everytime his new wife is in the john, he signs on. Sheeeeesh. All the mods are helping to cover, and we’re all very happy for Arnold. ---

Ok, that’s about what I suspected, I just wanted to make sure. Last I was in there, it was already starting to get a wee bit messy, but I’m sure that the place will be fixed up soon enough, if it’s not already. ---

Pssht. Arnold’s got it easy. He’s only got to split his time between the SDMB and _one_ woman. I got a whole harem here and, I’ll be honest, it can be a real pain. Every five minutes it’s “Alpha, the beaded curtains are crooked” or “Alpha, my finger cymbals need to be recalibrated” or “Alpha, the bear skin rug has chiggers again.” That’s why I’m cranky all the time. ---
