I rather enjoy doing them. šŸ™‚ Some people just jot down a few sentences (ā€œI thought it was c00l!ā€ or ā€œIt bad.ā€), while others submit a full-length review worthy (in length if not in quality) of The New Yorker or The Washington Post. Personally, I aim for something in the middle, trying to be concise while not glossing over too much. The better informed the reader is, the better, but you donā€™t want them to lose interest, either. So how many Comments do you guys have displayed on IMDb? ---

I rarely make comments but Iā€™ve submitted 32 items to their data pages since they started keeping track of such things. ---

Iā€™ve done it [once](http://imdb.com/user/ur0493377/comments) and Iā€™ve actually changed my mind since then about some of the stuff I said. šŸ˜‰ (As an amusing side note, a bit of that eventually found its way into the catalogue at the Harvard media libraryā€¦at least, I was amused when the person putting the thing together contacted meā€¦) ---

Only once, [weighing in on _One Eight Seven_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118531/usercomments-46), the Samuel Jackson flick. Most of my movie blab is reserved for the SDMB ā€“ I like the back-and-forth. The only benefit to posting comments at the IMDB is you usually get the distinction of being the one with the best grammar, spelling, and grasp of narrative discourse. šŸ˜› ---

And if youā€™re dum like me and leave your email address out there, you get some wacky emails. Countless times people have emailed me wanting to know specific things about particular movies; turned out they were given an assignment in school to watch the damn thing and couldnā€™t be bothered. ---

Iā€™ve submitted about two dozen. Donā€™t want to link to any of them as it would compromise my precious SDMB anonymity. šŸ˜‰ I treat them pretty seriously. I donā€™t feel IMDB reviews are as ā€˜fleetingā€™ as posts here. Consequently I not only make sure to check spelling & grammer but that my reviews are well thought out and are ā€˜worthā€™ reading. Hence I tend to avoid things like: **posted by: L0serd@rk69 X-Men blew chunks! Matrixā€™s Trinity would kick Storms ass!!** and so forthā€¦ ---
