Since I mostly lurk I debated it, but in the end I decided that it’s casual users like me that need to sign up (along with newbies, of course) to keep the community vital and not just the same 12 folks posting over and over. Not that that seems to be happening…

Does this charter membership make me look fat?
If the Powers That Be are on the ball, they will create and suspend accounts under the names “Charter Member,” “CharterMember,” “Charter\_Member,” etc., to prevent some wiseacre or five from coming along and claiming them. If it hasn’t happened already. Heh.

In, though I was wondering. While registering I noticed they still had an old email address. So I changed it. And then couldn’t get in until I got home and clicked through on the email they’d sent me.
So I had a few hours of “darn, I paid for this thing and it ain’t working!!!” But I had faith.

I just about went crazy and bought a celebratory mug, but then I realized it was going to be nearly $20CDN, after shipping. I’m beginning to see why a subscription plan is a better way to support this place than the ol’ House o’ Values.
