He and I quit smoking at the same time - in a thread here (about 20 years ago). I wonder if he stuck to it; I did. ---

There is one funny moment though. I was house sitting for my grandmother, and one morning I woke up in great pain. Grandma’s cat comes strolling into the room, and leaps up onto the bed, directly onto my abdoment. I shout in pain, the cat jumps up and hits the floor, belly making contact, then his claws scrabble for traction on the hardwood and he goes shooting away. I laughted in spite of how I was feeling. ---

Many thanks! (The avatar is a twisted version of the logo of my self-publishing company, Duer Press. Come to think of it I probably should revive the Marketplace thread in which I point out some possible low-priced gift ideas for the holiday season.) Heard yesterday that I’m probably having surgery in January. So at least they think that’s worth doing, which I have to take as good news. ---

I have been in contact with **Eve** , whom I still miss on the Board after all this time. She once posted a thread about running into Olivia de Havilland in Paris that I still remember. And I told her I treasure the copy of her biography of John Gilbert, which by the way she autographed for me. ---

Good luck with the chemo, @Sherrerd. I’ve been through it myself and I know it isn’t any fun. But I was given a 50/50 prognosis 20 years ago and I’m still alive and kicking, so there’s definitely a light at the end of the tunnel! ---

@sampiro is always my go-to when I think of people I miss (if only for his celebrity story telling). And I’m another who likes @monstro. I don’t see @Una_Persson either. Any idea what happened to @Ambivalid? He hasn’t posted since 2020. He was the guy in a wheelchair. I remember he liked to work out (speaking of, I also remember @Blaster_Master was a gym rat). ---
