My guess is that Atrael\_OG is the same person who formerly posted as Atrael. A bunch of people created new accounts when they weren’t able to login to the their pre-Discourse account. It’s annoying, because it breaks their posting history. ---

@Beckdawrek Yeah, I’m still breathing. Every now and again, I go on a reading jag. I become invisible online while I fall into a pile of ebooks. There are several favorite authors who write series, and I end up addicted. Once the series stretches out 5-10 years, I lose track of some of the characters and the secondary story lines. Well, Kindle and Amazon make it oh-so-easy to collect the ebooks in one place, so I can start at the beginning and read them again. I just did that with Jonathan Kellerman’s books (he’s written what, 37, 38?), and now I’m afraid I am doing the same thing with Patricia Cornwell’s books. In real life, I’m so glad Christmas is over! Here in SCal, we have rain, but it’s nothing like Central Cal and all points north. We watch the news every night, and the horrors and misery of the rest of the US make us so thankful we are not there. Stay safe and warm, Dopers! After I overdose on my ebook reading, I’ll be back! This would be correct. And since the email service I used for that account actually no longer exists, I can’t do the ‘reset password’ options. From the sounds of it, the site admins are pretty good about helping people get into old accounts, but I didn’t realize that until I’d already made this one. ---

I want to say that the original riddle came from a game a bunch of us played way back when called [Pyroto Mountain.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyroto_Mountain). If I remember right, you had to answer riddles to advance a level ‘up’ the mountain and this was one of them. But it’s been long enough ago that I could be mixing it with something else. ---

I looked at some of the posters I miss. Some of them were banned like Slicedalone and I understood the moderators’ reasons. He sometimes seemed to involve himself too deeply. In real life, i’m similar in tending to start things impulsively so really end up strapping my arms to the board. ---
