# Who's named their cats after a character in BtVS?

Inspired by [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=120731) thread, where I noticed a number of cats with **BtVS** character names I was wondering who else is willing to admit:
“Yes my cats are named after characters in **BtVS** and I am proud of it!”
For the record - Kendra (aka The Big Fluffy) and Dawn (aka The Dawn Monster)
(Dawns kittens - Buffy Xander and Willow are now in new homes).

Well, when my husband brought home our first cat, he got her from our neighbor. Our neighbor was a _huge_ BTVS fan, but at that point, we had only watched the show once or twice. I suggested that as kind of a “thank youfor the cat” we’d name her after a character– **Willow**. Which is a perfect name for her.
Then we decided to get her a playmate because she was lonely. By that time I was a HUGE fan of the show. I figured if I got a male, I’d name him **Spike** , and if I got a female, I’d name her **Tara**. We found a sweet little girl and now we have Willow and Tara.

Not my cats, but two of my dogs are named **Faith** and **Mr. Trick**.

My dogs and cats are too old - they range in age from 12 to 16 - and there was no Buffy at the time.
Does it count if I named an entire house in The Sims after them?

Buffy the Insect Slayer.
Last summer, I got two kittens from my birthday-sisters. Gypsy is my little grey tabby. Buffy is my wicked little orange tabby. My sister wanted to name her Angel, after the character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I said no, because I thought Angel was a stupid name for a cat. (It would also have been completely appropriate in an opposites way because Buffy is so bad!)
My mother suggested Gracie, and I suggested Scamp, but neither seemed to fit. I was looking at her, and her fur seemed a buff like color-like sand cliffs. And I thought-AHA! We’ll call her Buffy!
That way, my sister still got one BtVS name. And I got an MST3K name (Gypsy).
Now I call her Buffy the Insect Slayer, because she keeps trying to eat centipedes.
