ME! ME! Me! Me stay! That thread title was So scary - cos I assumed, it being the normal way of things, it would be something unaffordable (impecunious Celyn, you see, stumble from one financial crisis to another). So, it was a relief the price is low, and all I have to do is get over my timidity about how to pay things on the net. Am a bit muddled about how to pay in US$ from Britain, but, well, this shall be done. I have been on other boards that either die, or jsut become too tedious, and there are times I jsut take a break from the net, but I am NOT going to lose access to the SDMB. NONONONONO. I am not even much of a contributor, really, but I ain’t going! Sorry, I seem still to be a bit hysterical on the subject. I have no doubt that other reffuges will be established fotr members who cannot, or prefer not to, pay, so that is good. My only worry there is that, when that happens, some good people tend to get lost somewhere on the wayside. ---

I’ll pay up. It can only enhance the quality of the boards. Keep the riff-raff and less-than-serious posters out. But it’s not so much to make it an ultra-exclusive club. I like it! ---

I always said that, if the Dope went to paid subscriptions, I’d be sad, and I’d miss it, but I wouldn’t pay. But now that it comes to the time to decide, I think I get enough hours of enjoyment out of this board every week that it’s worth the money to me. Yeah, I’ll stay. I’d probably even have stayed for the full rate, but at the discounted rate, definitely yes. ---

I’m staying, in the scheme of things it is a tiny, tiny amount to pay that I will stay at least for the first year. It will change the place, and no doubt some will leave, but at that price I will certainly stick around to see what happens. ---

Since I am not 18 (which means no credit card and no pay pal) I will have to convince my parents to use theirs. No, it is not the monetary value. I have 4 5s in my pocket now. It is just that I have no idea how I can explain to them just what I want to use it for. They are afraid to use google even. It took me a good month to convince them that amazon was not going to steal their identity. If I told them that I would like to use the credit card for the very reason why I am online constantly, that gives them more power than anyone should ever even fathom owning. So, it is all up in the air… Man, the horrible, innocent times one has as a teenage youth. ---
