And I thought “Take me for a ride in your car-car. Take me for a ride in your car-car.” was close to a perfect match. Considering it’s Peter, Paul, and Mary, the folkie band, that’d explain the ‘like a kid’s song’ feel. Of course, it _is_ mixed up in my head with ‘we’re all going to the zoo tomorrow’, but I havn’t heard either in 20 years. Looks like it’s Woody Guthrie, originally. Annnnd I found a recording. Whatever the case, there is some weird shit going on in this thread. Oh and ,rowrrbazzle I think that is who I was remebering but I could swear he did some other bit with Dwiving in the car car car and turning on the radio. But I was pulling a lot of bong hits back in those days so I could be wrong ---

But there’s no _repetition_ of the word “car” in that song, so it can’t be what **Exapno** is looking for. ---

I know you said it isn’t a children’s song, but I am compelled to post that I have a song stuck in my head _ **with the same refrain** _. It is from Caillou (shudder) and he’s singing “We’re driving in the car car car, We’re going very far far far, I don’t know where we are are are, when we’re driving in the car” (or something similar) ---

I can’t find a trace of an audio version though. ---
