Michael Stipe. REM showed up to jam with a band called the Soul Capitalists at the Antenna Club in Memphis after their show at Mud Island…I think it was 1986 or 1987…Nothing interesting to report, except that all of the guys in REM were nice and down to earth. ---

None other than **Terry Prachett** , right before one of his book tour stops at the University of Washington. I couldn’t find the restroom on the actual lower floor so I ended up on the upper level where, apparently, he had been hanging around with some UW muckety-mucks having a few beers. ---

My dad pissed next to then Alabama defensive end Eric Curry a few days before they beat Miami for the 92 national championship. And every time we go to New Orleans we pass by that bathroom and he mentions it. Coming up on the 10th anniversary of this momentous occasion. I’m sure he’ll have something special planned. ---

This was just after he let a fly ball bounce off his head and over the fence for a home run, and I was going to bring that up, but I chickened out.
